Biography

Alexandre Beuchat is originally from Courtételle, Switzerland. After training as a violinist, he completed his Master’s degree in vocal performance in 2016 at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, studying under Barbara Locher. He further honed his skills with Wicus Slabert and Edith Lienbacher and participated in various masterclasses with Margreet Honig, Ton Koopman, and Daniel Sarge.

As a member of the Luzerner Theater ensemble during the 2015/16 season, he performed roles such as Mr. Gedge in Albert Herring (Britten), Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd (Sondheim), and Antonio in Il Viaggio a Reims (Rossini).

His solo career has led him to perform on stages such as the Wiener Staatsoper, Theater Basel, Bühnen Bern, and the Volksoper Wien, where he has been a member of the ensemble since 2016. His roles there include Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Marcello in La Bohème (Puccini), Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), and Danilo in Die lustige Witwe (Lehár).

He regularly performs solo parts in a wide repertoire of sacred music (Bach, Händel, Orff, Brahms, Haydn, etc.) and also participates in various Lied and mélodie recitals (Mahler, Ravel, Schubert, Vaughan Williams, etc.).
